Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu, was established in 1989 to protect the endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel. Covering an area of 485 sq km, the sanctuary is also home to elephants, leopards, Nilgiri langurs, lion-tailed macaques, and over 220 bird species, making it a biodiversity hotspot.
